Along with the battle versus COVID, are some fights that are so tough to beat. Take for instance the battle vs. weight gain because of the tendency to binge on food. But why not? Shouldn’t we simply enjoy life, specially during tough times? Well, there’s really nothing wrong about eating, as long as it does not reach a state of gluttony. And as long as your health does not suffer. That said, here are the top five types of food you shouldn’t eat, lest your brain suffers.

1. Foods high in trans fats such as margarine and frosting

3. Soda, sports drinks, energy drinks, and fruit juices

These are packed with sugar which  affects the brain, negatively. Not only that, but it also increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, that is said to boost Alzheimer’s disease.

4. Fried food, including processed food

According to WebMd, these foods cause inflammation which damages the blood vessels responsible for supplying blood for the brain.

5. Refined carbs found in food like white bread and white rice increase your risk of Alzheimer’s disease
