Top Five things to Know About Live Online Sellers

I often wondered what these things called FB, Shopee, Tiktok Live is all about. I thought they were a streaming service, at one point. Then I decided to click them- and found out what it was all about. It’s a platform that basically features all types of sellers, big or small, plying their wares in public, with viewers deciding whether to purchase or not. It’s actually more interactive than just doing online shopping in Shopee, Lazada, or Amazon, as a more immediate relationship between buyer and seller is established. But after a while, and after purchasing from some of them, I have come to realize the following about these sellers:

1. Most of them use filters

Don’t believe everything you see on line. What may appear to be a black leather bag may turn out to be faded faux leather when delivered. Or a white shirt may have sweat or grease stains when you get them. Remember, they use ring lights (which perhaps explains why their skin looks flawless, as well)

2. Most of them won’t tell you the flaws

Not everyone is honest as there are those who simply want to make a quick buck. Most buyers will experience this, no matter how careful they are. The only thing to do is to keep a mental note of who these sellers are and stop buying from them- ever again.

3. Most of them are really small businesses who don’t have much spare cash

You would know right off the bat, from their surroundings from where they sell their wares and even the kind of organizers or racks they use to display their goods. That is why you have to be extra careful that when you transact with them, you complete your purchase until the very end- so you don’t get called out in public. Also a tip: they would rather you make a payment upfront, and they seem wary of those who choose “cash on delivery” as their mode of payment as there’s a risk of buyers returning the product at the seller’s cost.

4. Most of them sell items acquired from bulk bales

That means while you can get good prices for them, not all items are in good condition. But sometimes, they get to score good finds which is obvious when they pull out a bag or a jacket from a box and they themselves gasp with excitement- and keep them for themselves.

5. Not all sellers are kind or gracious

There are sellers who don’t give a darn if they frown or talk sarcastically on air- or even call you out for not completing a sale. These are sellers who are either just forced to sell out of need or are simply tired of selling day in and day out. You can either avoid these shops or simply ignore them- or simply adapt specially if their goods and their prices are too good to be true.
